Some eye-candy from a long ago-release – following the somewhat disappointing release of the Converse Weapon Evo (disappointing as it looked so good in the sketches but the result was a little less that mind blowing). Like the ERX 350’s they’re massive! did anyone actually play ball in these?
Converse have rekindled their ERX line with the new ERX 300 skate shoes, perhaps that’s disappointing news as if they have made ERX a skate brand then it starts to look unlikely that there will be retros made of some of my favourite basketball boots, original 250s and other ERX shoes are like hens teeth and those that do exsist for the most part cannot be worn as the rubber and foam used in them has perished into either a crumbly or a sticky mess.
Fingers crossed we will see some more like my old ERX 250 with so many other manufactures remaking their old designs…
A special release of the Nike Hyperdunk (which lots of nike fans have been shouting for years about, see http://www.mcfly2015.com and their myspace profile with 10,000+ friends!)
The hyperdunk was inspired by concept shoes Nike designed for the second back to the future film. This is a limited special release (released in the US on the 2nd july at an event where kobe bryant arrived in the delorean time machine from the bttf films). Apparently only 350 pairs have been made, and are already selling on ebay for upwards of $2000. The insole features a design to match the hoverboard used in the film. Back to the future fans complain that the shoe is not the same as the pair in the film and does not light up, lol. There are rumours about more shoes being released later in the summer. A black colour way of the hyper dunk is available now from the nike uk online store.
Long term readers will know that I’ve been an attitude fan since they were released back in 03, through the years there have been some vile color-ways made!, but this pair are a recent release, with decidedly more subtle colours than those previously seen.
