Dreams do come true, at least ofr D3 fans, with a second release of the osiris D3 4.0 (making the 4th release of this shoe started way back with the Dave Mayhew shoe in 2001)

Back in 2001 and 2002 I wore my pair of the original etnies czar to death – I so loved those shoes. I even searched for another pair when they were done to see if I could buy a replacement… butthey had gone out of stock… so a bright yellow pair of eS scheme it was… I digress.

Etnies have now released the Czar 2 (i’d like to think it homage to me). They’re not quite the same as the original (hence not a re-release but a whole new shoe) there is a slightly different upper lace loop and the outsole has a quite different moulding – it was the outsole that split right across that sent my last pair to sneaker heaven.

These bring back so many memories, but will I be buying another pair? probably not.

Nike have converted one of their basketball classics into high-top street wear. The auto flight is styled on the classic Nike flight lite but with a vulcanized rubber out sole, to which the shoe owes it’s name derived from the autoclave used in the manufacture.

With Puma Ulimited’s, Sky hi and Sky II’s, First Round S, L an even LX it’s real nice to see another hi-top offering from Puma… at least this one is a bit different in having have a much more 80’s silhouette to it (not a surprise considering its an 80’s re-release). The Slipstream Monster edition is a real dogs dinner of what Puma describes as “intimidating” new colours, faux horse hair leopard skin pattern fabric and reptile, stingray and ostrich emboss prints – a puma zoo I think, two colours ways already on sale and limited edition black and red on the way for Christmas.

Also up for next year is a release of the first round vulc, as the name suggest a version of the ubiquitous first round with a vulcanised rubber sole.
